Chromium (GIF) is an element which is a steel grey metal that is extremely hard to melt and which is extremely bright and shinny. It was first discovered by Johann Gottlob Lehmann in the Ural mountains of Russia in 1761. He named this new element Syberian red lead. Cyromium (GIF) was rediscovered some nine years later when Dr.
Peter Simon Pallas, a German zoologist and botanist , visited the same site as Johann Gottlob Lehmann who discovered it to be very useful as a pigment in dyes and paints.
In 1797, Louis Nicolas Vauquelin, a French pharmacist and chemist, did some experimentation with chromium (GIF). It was he who discovered its presence in certain jewels. Chromium (GIF) was so named because of the many colorful components which could be made from it, chroma being the Greek word for color.
Scientific studies have shown that chromium (GIF) is a necessity in the human body for the proper metabolism of sugar. Scientific studies have also shown that there is a direct correlation between chromium (GIF) and carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism. If there is a deficiency or chromium (GIF), it can directly affect the potency of insulin in maintaining a proper balance of sugar in the human body. Some doctors and professional health care workers feel that taking a supplement of chromium (GIF)linate will reduce body fat and increase muscle strength, but the majority of doctors and professional health care workers consider this to be an erroneous assumption and feel that studies have not shown enough evidence to support this theory.
Chromium (GIF) is found through out the human body with the highest concentrates being in the liver, spleen, kidneys and bones.
Food sources that supply the human body with chromium (GIF) are liver and other meats, Brewer's yeast, whole grains, nuts, some fruits, especially bananas, grapes and unpeeled apples, some vegetables, potatoes and cheeses.
Medical doctors and other professional health care workers feel that recent clinical studies conducted in China seem to indicate that treatments involving chromium (GIF) had a direct positive influence on people with certain kinds of diabetes. Chromium also seemed to have a direct positive influence in the prevention of high blood pressure in rats.
Medical doctors, scientists and other professional health care workers also found that an increase of chromium (GIF) induced into the bodies of pigs, had a direct correlation with the decrease of body fat in the pigs. These same studies seemed to indicate an increase in the number of baby piglets in liters. Similar tests made upon human subjects who were undergoing resistive training seemed to indicate that the same correlation with chromium (GIF) did not carry over into the human species.
