Tinea Corporis, often called "ringworm", is not a parasitic infection but a fungal infection
Tinea corporis is contagious. It can be passed if you come into direct contact with someone who is infected. You can also become infected if you touch contaminated personal items like combs and clothing. Communcal showers, locker rooms and pool surfaces can also spread this infection. Tinea corporis can also be spread by pets and soil.
Tinea corporis appears as itching skin, is ring-shaped and red in color. It appears on the arms, legs and face and usually found in hairless skin area.
